The effect of dielectric constant and ionic strength on the solubility of lithium carbonate at 25.0 °C in thermodynamic view
Using the Solvent Evaporating and Atomic Emission Spectrophotometric methods, the solubilitiesof Li2CO3 were determined in various mixed- solvent "water + ethanol" with various mass percentof ethanol, and in the presence of NaNO3 in various molarities at 25.0°C . The results wereinterpreted in terms of mean ionic activity coefficient and ion association phenomenon.
متن کاملNegative specific heat, the thermodynamic limit, and ergodicity.
Thermodynamic stability, in particular, the positivity of the specific heat in the microcanonical ensemble, is not an automatic consequence of the thermodynamic limit. But it holds under special circumstances such as for the most important case of quantum-mechanical Coulomb systems. Therefore, it is surprising that there are experimental indications to the contrary. In this Letter we study a si...
متن کاملThermodynamic analysis of a magnetohydrodyamic oldroyd 8-constant fluid in a vertical channel with heat source and slippage
Thermodynamic analysis of a steady state flow and heat transfer of an Oldroyd 8-constant fluid with effect of heat source, velocity slip and buoyancy force under tranverse a magnetic field is is carried out in this paper. The model for momentum and energy balance is tackled numerically using Method of Weighted Residual (MWR). Partition method is used to minimize the associated residuals. The re...
متن کاملLooking at the Cosmological Constant from Infinite-volume Bulk
I briefly review the arguments why the braneworld models with infinitevolume extra dimensions could solve the cosmological constant problem, evading Weinberg’s no-go theorem. Then I discuss in detail the established properties of these models, as well as the features which should be studied further in order to conclude whether these models can truly solve the problem. This article is dedicated ...
متن کاملSelf-similarity in particle laden flows at constant volume
We consider constant volume thin film slurries on an incline. Clear fluids in this geometry are known to have a front position that moves according to a t scaling law, based on similarity solution analysis [Huppert, Nature, 1982]. We investigate the same dynamics for particle laden flow using a recently proposed lubrication model for the slurry and physical experiments. Our analysis includes th...
